VS'It was in 1998 that André Benoist and his son Camille acquired Château la Bergère, located not far from Saint-Emilion. In a few years, Camille, a passionate winegrower, established the notoriety and reputation of the estate. Far from being limited to the borders of France, where the name of the castle appears on the menus of starred restaurants, the reputation of La Bergère reaches to the borders of Asia. The estate has notably obtained several rank medals at Vinexpo Hong Kong.
More than fifteen years after the acquisition of the estate, La Bergère's playground has extended to Paris, London and Hong Kong. However, there is no question of abandoning the operation of the wine estate: far from the frenzy of the megalopolises where Bergère Vintners operates, the Château still remains the beating heart of the company today.
Our wines express the variety of the terroirs of Montagne-Saint-Emilion. Produced on gravelly soils, our wines have a certain finesse. The grape varieties from which the wines are made are the same as those required by the Saint-Emilion appellation. Elegant and structured, our wines are supported by powerful and ripe tannins. The finish is seductive with its freshness, spicy aromas, fruity side and persistence.
