During auctions organized at the end of June, Sotheby's and Hart Davis Hart will offer rare collections of renowned champagnes for sale, as well as a host of other great wines.<\/p>\n
Sotheby's will organize its sale on June 17 in London and will offer a vertical of Krug Clos du Mesnil ranging from 1979 to 1998 (photo), the 1985, 1991 and 1995 vintages of Nicolas Fran\u00e7ois Billecart, a rare cuv\u00e9e from the Billecart-Salmon house, as well as various champagnes in various formats, some of which date back to the 1960s: Louis Roederer, Clos du Mesnil, Dom P\u00e9rignon \u0152noth\u00e8que and Comtes de Champagne de Taittinger.<\/p>\n
For its part, the Hart Davis Hart sale will take place in Chicago on June 26 and 27 and will include lots of Dom P\u00e9rignon "P3" coming directly from the cellars of the champagne house: three magnums from 1966, 12 bottles from 1971 (disgorged in 2013) and three magnums of 1985 ros\u00e9 (disgorged in 2008), among others.<\/p>\n
Burgundy will also occupy a prominent place in both sales. Sotheby's will offer Domaine de la Roman\u00e9e-Conti and Leflaive from the cellar of a "well-known" Michelin-starred restaurant, as well as Domaine Leroy, Comtes Lafon, Comte Georges de Vog\u00fc\u00e9, Armand Rousseau and Henri Jayer. Many of these names will also be on the program for the Hart Davis Hart sale.<\/p>\n
The Sotheby's sale will also include Italian wines Il Caberlot "rare at auction", as well as a vertical of Ch\u00e2teau d'Yquem 1937-1988 (\u00a32,800-3,600, i.e. between \u20ac3,800 and \u20ac4,900) and a bottle of Taylor 1945 port.<\/p>\n
Hart Davis Hart, for its part, will offer an \u201camazing\u201d collection of 17 vintages of Screaming Eagle (in their original case) as well as an \u201cencyclopedia\u201d of 25 vintages of Unico.<\/p>\n
