Château La Bergere

bkz-142It was in 1998 that André Benoist and his son Camille acquired Château la Bergère, a stone’s throw away from Saint-Emilion. In just a few years, Camille, a passionate winemaker, built up a reputation and the estate became notorious. Far from being confined with the French borders, where the Château’s name appeared on wine lists in Michelin starred restaurants, the reputation of the Bergère reached the hidden depths of Asia. The estate received several medals including high rankings at Vinexpo Hong Kong.


chateau-labergere-2010More than fifteen years after acquiring the estate, the Bergère’s playground extended to Paris, London and Hong-Kong. There is no question however of abandoning efforts in the vineyard: far from the teeming cities where La Bergère operate, the Chateau is still the vibrant heart of the company today.


Our wines reveal the variety of estates in Montagne-Saint-Emilion. Produced on gravelly soil, our wines possess a certain finesse. The variety of vines from which the wines are made are the same as those required to be designated Saint-Emilion. Sophisticated and robust, our wines are supported by powerful and ripe tannins. The finish is appealing in its freshness, spicy aromas, fruitiness and persistence.
