AOC MENETOU SALON
The nose reveals aromatic notes of mint, citrus and pepper. Fresh, fruity and a little spicy, the mouth is fresh with aromas of citrus and flowers.
ESTATE
Property of the Maupas family for more than three centuries, the castle belonged to the attorney general of Louis XV. Duchess of Berry, granddaughter of Henry IV and mother of Comte de Chambord, stayed during the war of Vendée.
SITE
The vines are located all around the castle in a village named Morogues.
GRAPE VARIETY
100% Sauvignon Blanc.
SOIL
Calcareous sediments from the Upper Jurassic (Kimmeridgian).
GROWING METHOD
In the vineyards they practice reasoned fight. There is no irrigation, no pesticides and no herbicides.
TILLAGE
Ridging, plowing and digging, with yield regulation by budding.
SURFACE AREA
3.5 hectares.
DENSITY
7000 vines / hectares.
VINIFICATION
Vinified and aged on fine lees.
AGING
8 months in stainless steel tanks before bottling.
