Anne-Claude Leflaive nephew to run family domaine

Brice de la Morandiere, nephew of the late Anne-Claude Leflaive, has been appointed to succeed her as new managing director of Burgundy’s Domaine Leflaive.

De la Morandiere, who represents the fourth generation of the family to lead the family estate, was appointed by Domaine Leflaive shareholders following the death of Anne-Claude Leflaive in April.

He said he was looking forward to returning to Burgundy after 27 years of managing multinational companies.

‘I have always kept my roots in Puligny-Montrachet and in our Domaine, participating in major events, contributing to our board of directors and renovating a new family house in the village,’ de la Morandiere said.

He pledged to continue the work of his aunt, a passionate pioneer of biodynamic viticulture who helped to found the Ecole du Vin et des Terroirs wine school in Puligny-Montrachet.

‘We will continue with the same philosophy and respect for great terroir, humility towards the forces of nature, and the relentless pursuit of excellence in winemaking that Anne-Claude embraced and practised,’ de la Morandiere said.
