Château Ménard – 1998
AOC BAS-ARMAGNAC
White
This 1998 vintage is typical of the appellation Bas Armagnac. A fresh and keen character with aromas of heated wood, ripe fruit and woodlands, interspersed with citrus notes. With a large mouth and a long finish, the 1998 corresponds to the tranquillity of a great cigar.
ESTATE
The history of the estate began in 1920 when Jean François Morel, Swiss winemaker, decided to settle in Gascony to work the vineyard. The estate was just 10 hectares, but now has 120 and the grandchildren of Jean-François are now in charge of the estate. At the heart of the Bas Armagnac, the estate Ménard is located along the famous Via Podensis, a road used for centuries by pilgrims going to Saint Jacques de Compostela.
